Central States
St. Louis Sting fields teams in the Central States Developmental Hockey League. Midget Level 18U, 18U Prospects, 16U, 16U Prospects & 15U Prospects are open district, so all players are eligible. For ages 14U through 9U Sting is a joint venture between the Twin Bridges Lightning and the St. Peters Hockey Club, formed by Missouri Hockey for the purpose of fielding youth teams in the Central States Developmental Hockey League. Teams are for the top-level Tier II players in the above clubs and eligible to the independent clubs of Jefferson City, Springfield MO, and Springfield IL.
Ages
We field youth teams from ages 9U through 14U and midget ages 15U through 18U
When
Registration opens in Mid-May. Tryouts are always held beginning June 15th and league games begin in September.
Where
Practices
Each team will practice 3-4 times per week. Midget Level will have 2-3 full ice practices per week. All teams will also have off ice workouts during the week.
Games
There are approximately 24-30 league games, depending on the size of the league plus playoffs.
Jerseys
Our Central States teams will wear Sting jerseys. Uniforms and practice jersey are included in the season fee.
Additional Costs
In addition to your season fee, you will be responsible to cover tournaments/showcases fees, team bag, player's travel and other team expenses.
2026-2027
CSDHL Midget Level 2008 to 2011: Midget Level is Open District for all players 2011 up to 2008 birth years, regardless of previous club. All players are eligible to tryout. We will field CSDHL 18U, 16U & 15U teams. In addition, teams will also be selected for CSDHL Prospects at 18U &16U teams. There are no additional tryout fees to be considered for the CSDHL Prospect teams.
Camp & Tryout: $100, Tryout Only $60. Cuts will be made after each tryout. Players cut may be invited to Prospect team's tryout.
Jersey Fitting: June 29-30th (all midget teams) at the Sting Center.
Season Fee: $4,875, includes uniforms, gloves and all coaches' fees and travel. (Goalies will receive a glove credit) Not included are tournament costs and a required bag. If selected a payment plan will be available in the offer.
CSDHL 2012's through 2017's: Twin Bridges Lightning, St. Peters Hockey Club and open Clubs are eligible to try out for the St. Louis Sting 9U through 14U teams.
Camp & Tryout: $160, Tryout Only $80. First cut will be made after 2nd tryout.
Jersey Fitting/Signing Event: June 29th (14U-13U) June 30th (12U-9U) at the Sting Center. Only for Sting CSDHL players selected.

Twin Bridges Lightning or St. Peters Hockey Club Prospect Teams: To be eligible should your home club field a 14U, 12U or 10U CSDHL prospect team all players must try out for their POD CSDHL age level team to be eligible to play on their home club prospect team. More information will be posted should prospect teams be awarded to either TBL or STP. Players can only play for their home club prospect teams.
